UMass Extension is part of the Center for Agriculture, Food, and the Environment at UMass Amherst. It is the Massachusetts partner in the national Cooperative Extension System and addresses public concerns of high priority for the Commonwealth. Extension provides educational opportunities, resources, training, and applied research in agricultural and commercial horticulture areas as well as in food science, environmental, water, and energy topics. UMass Extension provides nutrition education to low-income families and individuals and is also home to 4-H youth development in the state.
