The CNS Outstanding Achievement Awards recognize excellence and honor faculty and staff members and students who have made important contributions to their discipline, department, college, and university.
Awards are given in the following areas: diversity/inclusion, teaching, research, service/engagement, advising, and staff.
Recipients are presented with their awards and a $1,000 honorarium at a special ceremony in the spring. Teaching Award recipients are also honored at a celebratory dinner in the spring and named in the Undergraduate Commencement program.
Award recipients are chosen by committees chaired by designees appointed by the Dean, which may include past recipients.

All Staff Award nominations must be done using the online form.
Deadlines
Nominating materials for the Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion Award, and the Outstanding Teaching, Research, Service/Engagement, Advising, and Staff Awards, are due no later than 5:00 pm on the 3rd Friday in February each year.
Nominating materials for the Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion Award, and Outstanding Teaching, Research, Service/Engagement, and Advising Awards, should be submitted in electronic form (preferably one pdf file) to CNS-Awards@umass.edu.
