Second Annual TIMBR Conference on Cellulosic Biofuels
Catalyzing Industry – Academic Collaboration
Those interested in the Commonwealth’s developing biofuels and bioproducts industry are invited to participate in the Second Annual TIMBR Conference on Cellulosic Biofuels on April 30, 2010. The conference is hosted by The Institute for Massachusetts Biofuels Research (TIMBR) at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. TIMBR is a growing interdisciplinary research group focused on expanding biofuels and bioproducts research on the Amherst campus and enabling translational research through strategic partnerships between academia, industry, and state and federal government.
During the conference you will hear about the latest developments in biofuels research at UMass Amherst and other universities, learn about the opportunities that lie ahead for biofuels in the region from state policy makers, and connect with others from industry, academia, and government who are eager to expand their network of partners and collaborators in the biofuels industry. Topics covered will include emerging research in plant feedstock development, catalytic and microbial routes to biofuels, the Massachusetts biofuels industry, and more. Our keynote speaker will be Dr. Martin Keller, Associate Laboratory Director for Biological and Environmental Sciences at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and a world leader in cellulosic biofuels.
TIMBR has received a grant from the UMass President’s Office Science and Technology Initiatives Fund to assist in the development of this important conference. We are offering additional sponsorship opportunities to companies interested in supporting conference activities. We invite you to take advantage of this unique opportunity for advertising and building awareness of your company or organization within the growing Massachusetts and New England biofuels industries. Sponsorship options include underwriting specific events (buffet lunch, poster session, keynote lecture, and evening reception) as well as opportunities for advertising and brand exposure on conference marketing materials. Other sponsor benefits include preferential access to faculty and students, and complimentary registration for a selected number of company employees. Reduced sponsorship rates are available for small businesses.
