Undergraduate Commencement 2015

The video of the 2015 CNS Senior Celebration is now available for viewing.

Commencement Weekend Overview

May 8-9, 2015

Undergraduate Commencement takes place over two days. There are three separate events you can attend: University Commencement, CNS Senior Celebration, and department receptions.

The university event is held in McGuirk Alumni Stadium so there is no limit to the number of people who attend and tickets are not required. The more the better!

The college event is held in the Mullins Center, and space is limited. While tickets are not required, graduating seniors are requested to limit their number of guests to four, if possible. A video of the Senior Celebration will be available on this Web site shortly after the conclusion of the event.

The program for the 2015 CNS Senior Celebration (PDF) is now available.

University Commencement

The University Commencement will take place on Friday, May 8, from 4:30-6:00 p.m. in Warren McGuirk Alumni Stadium. The site includes information about planning your visit and information for seniors, including how to get a cap and gown.

CNS Senior Celebration

Picture of Commencement Medal. The College of Natural Sciences Senior Celebration will be held on Saturday, May 9, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in the Mullins Center. This ceremony will allow the college to recognize graduates in a special way: graduates' names will be announced as they cross the stage to shake hands with college leaders, and receive a commemorative UMass medal (pictured here) and a special farewell gift from the college. Two jumbo video screens will broadcast each graduate’s time on stage, which will also be captured by a professional photographer. Seniors need to arrive at the Mullins Center at 4:00 p.m.

Please plan on attending both ceremonies.

There are two ways to watch the Senior Celebration once the event is over. A video of the entire event will be available on this site shortly after the ceremony ends. DVDs are also for sale: Download the order form (pdf). They will be mailed in early July.

Faculty Information

While some faculty have specific roles in the event, all CNS faculty are warmly encouraged to attend the Senior Celebration. The graduates appreciate the support and enjoy the opportunity to make their final goodbyes.

Before the day

Regalia is now being distributed through the University Store located in the Campus Center. Faculty can pick up their regalia this week during store hours. All regalia must be returned to the University Store. For more information please go to the faculty page information page of the university's Commencement site.

On the day

Parking is available in any lot on campus where there is room. The garage is free this weekend. Traffic will not be re-routed, but it will be heavy, so allow plenty of time to get to the Mullins Center.

All faculty attending the Senior Celebration should meet in the Green Room in the Mullins Center at 4:00 p.m. You will need to return rented regalia to the Green Room after the ceremony.

These PDFs give specific instructions about the day, depending on the faculty member's role at the ceremony:
