Andrew comments on fears about popular cocktail

Trisha L. Andrew, Chemistry, was interviewed about a warning from the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division that the popular drink Moscow mule can be poisonous because it’s served in a copper mug. Andrew called the alert “chemophobic fear-mongering,” noting that the chemical interactions between the copper mug and the drink ingredients are too minor to pose a health threat.
