Adler and Palmer-Young find no natural bee medicine in compound
A new study by PhD candidate Evan Palmer-Young and his advisor, Lynn Adler, Biology, of possible self-medicating behavior in bumble bees reports that a once-promising finding was not supported by further experiments and analysis. Findings from earlier research had suggested bees might use a chemical found in plant nectar to rid themselves of an intestinal parasite that can decrease the survival of queens. Read more.
