How to be an Effective Faculty Mentor for Diverse Graduate Students and Postdocs in STEM
Refreshments will be served.
In this moderated discussion, a panel of accomplished scientists and mentors will discuss the needs of graduate students and postdocs from underrepresented groups and offer strategies for how to create a more inclusive climate in research labs. We will explore the assumptions faculty and students bring into their mentor/mentee relationships and how those assumptions impact lab dynamics.
Please join panelists: Michael Ramsey-Musolf, Professor, Physics, Maureen Perry-Jenkins, Professor, Psychological & Brain Sciences and Ken Carter, Professor, Polymer Science & Engineering
Buju Dasgupta, Professor of Psychological and Brain Sciences and CNS Director of Faculty Equity and Inclusion, will moderate the discussion.
The event is open to all.
