CNS students advance in Innovation Challenge
CNS undergrads Peter Tao, Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, and Austin Rohlfing, Mathematics & Statistics, were both winners in the second round of the Innovation Challenge competition hosted by the Berthiaume Center for Entrepreneurship, where four student teams won a total of $15,000 in funding for their venture ideas.
Tao is part of a team that created Easy Lock, a device that uses facial-recognition software to replace keys. Rohlfing is a member of the team behind TernAway, an online travel bank that matches customers a percentage of their savings toward travel.
The semifinal round of the Innovation Challenge takes place in February.
