PHaSE Energy Frontier Research Center at UMass Amherst
ORGANIZATION
The day to day operations of the University of Massachusetts Amherst PHaSE EFRC are administered by co-directors. Participants funded by the center fall into one or more of three main Energy Research Groups (ERG's), each of which is coordinated by two ERG members. The co-directors and ERG coordinators make up an Internal Advisory Board, which coordinates activities on the Amherst campus and with off-campus collaborators. An External Advisory Board meets semi-annually to provide advice for progress of EFRC work, and is drawn from high profile industrial, government and academic scientists and engineers having expertise in the research areas of the center. The members of these advisory groups are given in People & Contacts.

The PHaSE EFRC participants are drawn from four UMass Amherst departments, as well as scientists from UMass Lowell, Konarka Technologies Inc., University of Pittsburgh, the Pennsylvania State University, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, and Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
Technology transfer with the industrial and private sector will be primarily enabled by PHaSE members working with the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research & Engagement, and with the Center for UMass/Industry Research on Polymers (CUMIRP).
