New England Grows

The college and the Stockbridge School held an alumni reception at New England Grows this past Thursday.

New England Grows is a horticultural and green industry educational conference and trade show that the organizers tout as one of the largest in North America.

For us it is a great opportunity to have an alumni reception because so many of our alumni participate in the event. We probably had 130 alums show up for the reception and what always impresses me is how many of them run their own business. And every type of green business was represented - there was lawn care, landscaping, design and build, tree care, nursery. The reception was sponsored by Dan Mayer of Mayer Tree Service and the Stockbridge Alumni Association. One of the things that I think alumni appreciate the most is the chance to network and this certainly was that.
